Without a Course

Last night, I dreamt that I was running a marathon that didn’t have a course. Each participant had a watch that kept track of distance. It would tick with each tenth of a mile.

In the dream, I was at mile 16. I was very lost.

Me at work.

I ran the perimeter of a neighborhood lawn, over and over. My watch ticked, and a man mowing his yard watched me.

My dreams aren’t much fun.
